Here you go, again!
You got the positive pregnancy test back! Can you breathe???
The sudden rush of excitement, followed by the gut wrenching thought of having another miscarriage??? To address those emotions read “How you really feel during a Pregnancy AFTER experiencing a miscarriage.”
Now that we know How pregnancy after miscarriage feels …
How do you cope with these new challenges?
How do you last 9 months with these intense fillings?
To answer these questions I found the following practices essential to coping with the new intense emotions. I pray they provide you with some comfort during your pregnancy!
Ways to cope during a pregnancy, AFTER experiencing a miscarriage.
1. Numb to the pregnancy
Choosing to be numb during your pregnancy is an attempt to guard your heart. You might choose to be numb by keeping the pregnancy quieter and only share with a select few for a time, not buying items for the baby to early, and/or keeping the gender a surprise, to name a few.
2. Talk
I know that talking seems counterintuitive to being “numb to pregnancy” but it’s specific.
Choose your few people to talk too. Maybe your doctor, spouse, close friend, and/or family member. (You could even write in your journal.)
The point is to give an outlet to your intense emotions. By talking to the select few you will feel like you are not carrying the emotional weight alone.

3. Prayer
Praying for the strength to endure what may come but hopeful for a healthy pregnancy. Prayer was my go to.
I prayed often.
Little whispers here and there.
Driving in the car, making dinner, while watching my other kids play, pretty much anytime I begin to worry, I would pray!
4. Remember: You are stronger now than you were before!
Years ago I was talking to a friend who had just experienced her first miscarriage. She wanted to try for another pregnancy, but the fear was debilitating. Looking at her, with all the sincerity from the depths of my tender heart, I told her “you are stronger now than you were before.”
As hard as it was, you have experienced miscarriage so you are stronger now! You know what miscarriage is and how it feels so you are stronger because of your knowledge.
Shortly after that conversation she conceived and was blessed with a healthy pregnancy!
